California’s State Water Resources Control Board says Californians are falling behind the state’s mandatory 25% water conservation target. As of January, cities used 28.4% less water almost hitting the mark, but numbers are decreasing rather than increasing.
Maybe it’s because some areas particularly up north have been receiving heavy rainfalls. Does this mean we can get lax about conserving water? Of course not! This is California’s 5th year of drought; we still need to keep doing the small things at home that do make a difference.
Abc news says, “A strong El Nino weather pattern this year has brought parts of the state up to normal levels of rain and snow, but fallen short of the big storms that state officials say would be needed to bring California out of drought.”
