According to the article posted by FENIT NIRAPPIL, Associated Press, the month of February was the worst month for California’s water conservation since last summer, despite the horrendous effects of the drought state-wide.
The data released showed “a new low in saving water. Residents did less to curtail water use in February than any other month since officials started tracking conservation.
Along the south coast, home to more than a third of Californians from San Diego to Los Angeles, residents actually showed an increase in water consumption despite longstanding calls for cutbacks.”
State officials have warned agencies that if they do not make the water conservation requirements then fines will have to be given.
It sounds like we all need a budge (or kick) in the right direction. It may be California’s issue for now, but it will, in the long run, affect us all.
