Replacement of the old lead pipes in Flint are to begin this month so that the community can have access to clean water as soon as possible. The state legislature may approve funding for the first phase of a $55 million lead pipe replacement plan, says CNN.com.
In the meantime, officials are still encouraging the city’s residents to use their water filters and drink bottled water. Everyone agrees that the water is still unsafe, even though test results have shown some improvement in Flint’s lead levels.
