Here’s an interesting article by The Washington Post, about earth’s most precious resource, freshwater, and how recent studies have attempted to calculate how much water is used globally each year. Essentially researchers have found that with population growing, water consumption has also gone up a significant mark.
“Water consumption refers to any water that is withdrawn and not immediately returned to its original source.” This includes water that evaporates into the atmosphere, or is taken up by plants and later released into the air from their leaves.
Read more about the factors that suggest the largest water consumption use on our planet today.
