The latest news on California’s drought is that Gov. Jerry Brown and Legislative Leaders have passed a bill that will help devastated communities in two ways:
1) $1 billion in funding will be used for drought relief, and
2) Improvements will be made on how the Sate responds to “extreme weather events”
According to the article posted today (March 19) by the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), “…$128 million in expenditures from the governor’s proposed budget…” will go to assisting the workers and communities who have most been impacted by the drought, “…and to implement the California Water Action Plan.”
Other funding will go towards projects like:
-Safe drinking water
-Water Recycling
-Flood Protection
We are grateful that this funding is being provided and that those who have been drastically affected by the drought will receive the help they need.
