Water Softener Alternative Refill Media, Medium or Small size.

For hard water with hardness up to 25 grains:  (Higher will require more frequent changes.)

• Medium size:  change after 5 years
• Small size:  change after 3 years in a small one or two-bedroom house.

Turn off the water.  Unscrew the top.  Empty the old media onto a tarp.  Put the new media in.  Re-attach and turn water back on.
