TYPE OF FILTER
This is a Travel Berkey Water Purifier – a smaller gravity-fed filtering system. Configured with 2 Black Berkey filter elements. Provides the same filtration as a larger system.
We are authorized Berkey dealers for all models. Contact for information.
FOR WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES
Ideally suited for travel, emergency, outdoor use, although it can be used anywhere. Can be used on untreated or treated water. Can comfortably fit into a suitcase. Great for backpackers, sporting guides and campers.
WHAT IS FILTERED?* chlorine
* heavy metals
* volatile organic compounds * herbicides * pesticides Tested to NSF Standards. HOW DO THEY WORK?
The Travel Berkey Water Purifier produces the same quality and quantity of water as the larger Berkey models in a smaller size and at a lower price. This unit is more portable due to its smaller size and because the top fits inside the lower portion for travel.
This is a gravity-fed water filter system.
COMPARISON TO OTHER TYPES OF FILTRATION
This is a gravity-fed filter. You pour water in the top to filter it. This is unlike the kitchen canister filters we sell which are tied into your water line for an under-sink, or screwed onto your kitchen faucet for a countertop unit.

Q. I have been using my system for about 6 months and the flow rate has slowed down considerably. Do I need to replace the filters?
No. Unlike many other filtration elements, the Berkey filter elements can be cleaned. What typically causes the filters to drip slowly is turbidity and sediment clogging the micro-pores of the elements. Simply remove the elements from your system, and clean the Black Berkey element by scrubbing the exterior of each element under running water with a green scrub pad (3M or ScotchBrite brand, etc.) or stiff toothbrush. It’s simple to do and takes less than a minute per element.
