This Chlorine Fridge Filter Plus does far more than the carbon only filters, like those that come in refrigerators.

Kdf is known in particular for filtering heavy metals and chemically-based contaminants.  In combination with kdf, bacteria can’t live in the carbon (which it otherwise can). Kdf filters also prevent scale buildup, protecting your fridge.  The chlorine fridge filter plus also removes sediment, algae, molds, bad taste, unpleasant odors and hundreds of contaminants.  Overall, it work on all the types of contaminants that may be in your municipal water including chemical, organic, heavy metals, and works on odor and taste issues.

We recommend that you replace the filter once a year, or 1500 gallons, whichever comes first.  This filter does not have a cartridge inside.  You simply replace the entire filter.
